The IMS Japan Awards, which began in June 2016 to commemorate the founding of the IMS Japan Society, will be held for the 7th time this year.

The IMS Japan Award follows the internationally acclaimed Learning Impact Award (LIA) of the 1EdTech Consortium (former IMS Global Learning Consortium) and recognizes outstanding challenges that have made significant contributions to the use of technology in education. increase.

Achievement of Digital Transformation (DX) in education and learning, such as the realization of an educational digital ecosystem by effectively utilizing the interoperability of technical standards, or contribution to domestic dissemination of IMS technical standards works and practices.

Not only vendors that have provided products and services (including prototypes in the development stage), but also educational and training institutions that have introduced them and implemented innovative practices are eligible. However, it would be ideal if the vendor and the implementing organization work closely together to submit a joint application and present the results of how the vendor-provided technology has brought about a change in the implementing organization.

Application target

In addition to applications from companies, local governments, organizations, and schools, individual applications are also possible. Application is free.

Application theme

There is no limit to the number of submissions and the theme of submission is free. Contents, services, solutions, and introduction examples that foreshadow the development of educational ICT will be evaluated based on the common judging criteria.

Qualification requirements

It may be a provider that provides products or services (including professionals and types in the development stage), or an educational / training institution that is the end user, but clearly indicates the name of the product or service and the institution where it is installed. .

examination process

The final judging will be conducted by an expert panel (panel) selected by the 1EdTech Consortium (formerly IMS Global Learning Consortium).
After the application deadline, the first screening will be conducted and the first successful applicants (Finalist) will be decided. In the final examination, in addition to the materials at the time of application,

  1. Promotional or presentation video no longer than 4 minutes

  2. A one-page document summarizing the results

  3. Presentation and question-and-answer session at the Spring Conference next spring

Since the IMS Japan Award has the character of LIA's regional qualifiers, the selection criteria are determined in accordance with the LIA's selection method.
However, from the perspective of promoting a wider understanding of the activities of the 1EdTech Consortium (former IMS Global Learning Consortium) in Japan, we accept submissions in Japanese.
International judges will also participate from the second round of the IMS Japan Award (selected by the top few points), and the judging will be conducted in English.
